Calculation Methodology
How calculations are checked
The test suite exercises the default inputs for all 17 tools, checks dough mass and hydration, margin arithmetic, grade formulas, interpolation, malformed recipe entries and crafting batches. Astronomy checks compare equivalent UTC instants and verify that the calculated Ascendant lies on the eastern horizon. These checks reduce errors but do not guarantee every possible input or external rule is covered.
Calculation engines
Astronomical positions use Astronomy Engine. Baseline Pokémon damage uses Smogon’s damage calculation library. Open-source license notices are available.
Fees and changing rules
Etsy’s official fee policy is the source for the fee examples. All fee inputs remain editable. The comparison calculator uses illustrative channels and does not fetch live pricing. UK classification bands are illustrative; consult your programme regulations.
Rounding and examples
Calculations use unrounded values internally and display rounded results. Crafting quantities are rounded to whole batches. Worked examples use the initial form values and are not user records.
Charts and saved projects
Charts use the same inputs and formulas as the displayed results. A data table is available for every chart. Saved scenarios are recalculated with the current method. Browser backups contain inputs and names; they can be restored on another device or domain. Calculator arithmetic and edge cases are checked in our regression tests, including whole-package rounding and non-finite inputs.
Corrections
If a result looks wrong, compare the units, inputs and stated formula. Do not rely on an unexplained discrepancy for a purchase or academic decision. The page review date identifies the last checked content, not continuous monitoring of external rules.
