What this calculator does
Estimate a three-year weighted average using the year weightings from your university regulations. This tool applies illustrative classification thresholds to the unrounded result. It does not model module-credit selection, best-credit rules, borderline promotion or mandatory passes. Treat the output as a planning estimate rather than an official award.
Formula, assumptions and sources
Average = sum(year average × weight) ÷ 100. Weights must total 100%. Illustrative bands: 70 first, 60 upper second, 50 lower second, 40 third. University rules vary: borderline rules, credits, exclusions and mandatory passes. Not an official classification.

Frequently asked questions
Can I exclude first year?
Yes. Set its weight to zero and assign the full 100% across the remaining years, if that matches your programme’s rules.
Does 69.5 automatically become a First?
No. This calculator does not round up or apply borderline rules. Those decisions depend on the university and programme.
