What you need for a Sun, Moon and Rising calculation
Prepare birth date, time, location and UTC offset before exploring the calculator’s tropical Big Three placements.
Gather the inputs first
The form needs a birth date, local clock time, UTC offset, latitude and longitude. Record where each value came from. A precise-looking result cannot compensate for an uncertain birth time or an incorrect location.
Understand the three outputs
This tool reports tropical zodiac labels for the Sun, Moon and Ascendant, also called Rising. The Ascendant calculation depends on the birth instant and location. These labels belong to an astrological framework; they are not a scientific personality assessment.

Input preparation checklist
| Input | What to enter | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Date and time | Local birth date and clock time | Accuracy of the record |
| UTC offset | Decimal hours, such as +5.5 | Offset on the actual birth date |
| Latitude | North positive; south negative | Strictly between −66° and +66° |
| Longitude | East positive; west negative | Birthplace, not current residence |
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways if needed.
Try this in the calculator
Check each input against a reliable record before calculating. Review the UTC instant shown in the result. If the birth time is uncertain, keep that uncertainty attached to any saved scenario.
Try the example ↗Check the coordinate signs
Enter latitude and longitude in decimal degrees. In this form, north and east are positive, while south and west are negative. For a purely illustrative coordinate, 30 degrees north and 70 degrees east would be entered as 30 and 70. That example is not a suggested birth location.
Know the supported range
The current calculator accepts dates from 1900 through 2100 and limits the Rising calculation to latitudes strictly between 66 degrees south and north. Those are this implementation’s limits. A location outside the supported range needs another appropriate tool.
Keep uncertainty visible
If your time is approximate, label any saved scenario accordingly. Avoid treating a guessed noon time as an established birth time. Use the results for entertainment and reflection, and do not use them to make medical, financial or relationship decisions.
